Bacon & Cheese Pastry Twists

This mixture of pastry, bacon and cheese is every food lover’s dream. Whip up your own Bacon & Cheese Pastry Twists at home using the recipe below:

INGREDIENTS:

2 teaspoons olive oil
½ small brown onion, finely chopped
1 Lynca Meats streaky bacon, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, partially thawed
20g butter, melted
⅓ cup grated cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves
Olive oil spray

METHOD:

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C. Grease 2 baking trays. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and bacon. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until onion is softened and bacon golden. Add garlic. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until fragrant. Remove from heat. Cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Place the pastry onto a board. Brush with butter. Sprinkle with bacon mixture, cheese, and parsley. Cut pastry in half. Cut each half into 10 strips. Twist strips. Place strips onto prepared trays. Spray with oil.
  3. Bake, 1 tray at a time, for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden and puffed. Cool on trays for 5 minutes. Serve warm.
